Susan Miner, Senior Director, Corporate & Executive Protection
Susan is one of the world’s foremost experts on executive liability and risk management, including Directors & Officers Liability Insurance. She has some 20 years of experience and has counseled clients of all sizes and complexity, from Fortune 50 corporations to start ups. Susan is routinely referred into companies experiencing profoundly difficult D&O renewals; she is known for constructing creative solutions in complicated situations. Susan’s clients praise her high degree of attention to their needs, responsiveness, and inventiveness. Her clients span multiple industries – including high tech, life science, health care, retail and energy – in the U.S. and throughout the world.
Susan joined Woodruff-Sawyer in 2009 after 19 years at Carpenter Moore Insurance Services, where she served in a variety of positions including Vice Chairman, President, and Executive Vice President. In 2005, Susan engineered the sale of then privately-held Carpenter Moore to The NASDAQ Stock Market. When NASDAQ exited insurance in 2009, Susan negotiated the sale of Carpenter Moore’s West Coast business to Woodruff-Sawyer. Throughout these transitions, her focus has remained on service to and solutions for her clients.
With a master's degree from Cal Tech and experience at both Intel and BioRad, Susan brings a uniquely analytical and sophisticated approach to executive liability and risk management. She is results-driven and tenacious, focused on obtaining customized solutions for her clients.
Susan is a frequent speaker on executive liability topics. She has regularly joined the faculty of the Stanford Directors College, and has spoken at numerous symposia.
