Mary Sklarski, Chief Operating Officer

placeholder imageIn addition to overseeing our daily operations with respect to company growth and client retention, Mary executes the strategies developed by our executive team.

Mary has over 25 years of insurance experience. She joined Woodruff-Sawyer in 2002 as the leader of our Technology Practice and ultimately led the Property & Casualty Practice, a role which helped lay the foundation for her appointment to COO in 2008. Mary has also played a key role in developing our firm’s strong carrier relationships and in driving our corporate initiatives.

Prior to Woodruff-Sawyer, Mary held various management positions at Chubb in San Francisco, including marketing manager, risk management customer group leader, international manager and Portland branch manager. She is a past president of the Golden Gate Chapter CPCU, has served on national committees for the Society of CPCU and is currently participating on several regional and national carrier counsels.

In 2008, Mary gained national recognition for her leadership. She has been featured on the covers of both Insurance Journal and Leaders Edge Magazine. She was named as one of the industry’s “Women to Watch” in 2008 by Business Insurance magazine.

Mary earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed an executive management program with Smith College. She holds the CPCU and ARM designations.
